Some people say that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures and ages together, are they right or wrong?
Well, let’s start our analysis from the fact that different generations most of the time have different points of view even if they discuss the same topic. They have experienced life another way, they have different associations about such things and different opinions. You might say, see! It doesn’t bring people together, but the thing is that discussing topics (in our case it’s music) with people who have different aspects of view, gets the conversation to be way more full of life and, of course (not most of the time but) it might get controversial.
Old people might remember the times of going to concerts, buying albums supporting the artist which was their favourite, remember the excitement and understand the youth which now can experience the same feelings towards the artists they like.
If we talk about “people from different generations who like the same artist”, that makes them become closer, most of the time they will discuss the songs, and the discussion might come a long way since two people from different generations = different aspects of view as I mentioned earlier.
Different generations discussing music and other topics bring way much more advantages and experience to your life than disadvantages, even if there are no advantages in your opinion. Experiencing something new is always an advantage.
